The Roosevelt Elk is is the largest body Elk in North America. Some can get great racks. One has to love the dark antler on many of them. They thrive in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and of course Northern California. Chasing them can be very difficult as they love deep canyons and heavy cover. All of the states other than California are pretty easy to get a tag. I do believe that California has more Roosevelt’s that the other states.
