As you can see, I have been working on the website and having short story excerpts for you to read and enjoy!  This website is dedicated to hunting in Oregon at the present time.   In the future I will have a book of short stories on hunting experiences and hunting knowledge available.  The stories are based on real hunts with friends, customers and myself.  My consulting knowledge about hunting for big game in Oregon  and a few other western states will allow you to rehearse your hunt during a scouting trip, before going on the actual hunt.  For those that do not have time to scout, my waypoints or directions with diffently get you into the game area. With new technology, I can keep you legal in areas that there is public and private mixed.   I have suggestions on GPS and Mapping on other pages.  There is a new mapping company that will link to Garmin GPS products only and I highly suggest that you look at the site!

Shruis Moose-Fort Bridger-Wyoming

Wyoming Shiras Moose

Picture was taken in August near Ft. Bridger, Wyoming.  There was a small patch of Alfalfa amongst sage brush near an old homestead.  Lone Boone & Crockett not in a very good mode when the pictures were taken at 50 feet by my wife Linda.  I felt that she got a bit close on this bull, as he let be known that this was his turf.

Ft. Bridger, WY – Many of the locals in western Wyoming feel that the Shiras Moose in this locale are of Alaskan decent.   Most of the Moose in this area have white stocking.

This was the first bull with about 50 cows. Picture was taken in August. Amazing getting this shot of him bugling. Only time he did. Not other bulls in the area at all. Strange timing.

  1. Greetings from Montana! I’ve had a long desire to hunt Aoudad, and up until recently didn’t know they could be hunted in Oregon, nor without a tag! My son just married a gal from LaGrande and lives there now, so I’m in search of places I might be able to pursue Barbary Sheep in the future, and any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you

  2. Well Bubba, looks like your site is a big hit with hunters. Times have changed a great deal in hunting. The good days of good animals is still upon us. Hope your getting your hunts in like the old days.
